Component Update 2 provides enhancements and fixes for errors reported in the latest Easy Dental release. In Component Update 2, the Texas DPS number has been added to the Texas Rx form, and several errors have been fixed, including insurance claim printing, Windows Vista, and patient information download errors.

The Component Update must be installed on each workstation. Please copy EZD2008CU2.exe to your computer and double click the file to launch the installation. Once the installation is finished, you should be prompted to install the Component Update on any other computers running Easy Dental 2008 the next time Easy Dental is opened. If you are not prompted to install the Component Update the next time Easy Dental 2008 is opened on the other computers, you will need to copy EZD2008CU2.exe to each computer and double click the file to launch the installation.

Component Update 2 provides enhancements and fixes for 2007

• Added new claim forms, edits to existing claim forms and requirement updates for California (Medi-Cal), Indiana, New York.
• Updates to the Prescription forms for New York.
• Fixes for specialty codes and EZCheckOut.

The component update must be installed on each workstation.

Beginning January 2007, HIPAA requires dentists to use CDT-2007 (CDT-7) codes to represent specific dental procedures. Specifically, HIPAA requires that all electronic claim submissions be CDT-7 compliant as of January 1, 2007.

Easy Dental has provided a free utility for customers on a current customer service plan that will automatically update your software with the CDT-7 codes and new ADA form.

The component update must be installed on each workstation.

• Copy CDT-2007Update.exe to each computer and double click the file.
  Or
• Copy the file into the Ezdental Setup folder on the server (ie. C:\Program Files\Ezdental\Setup).

Easy Dental customers not on an active customer service plan can order the CDT-7 update utility on CD by calling Easy Dental Sales at 1-800-824-6375 or contact the ADA and purchase the CDT-2007 code book and CD and manually enter the changes to the CDT codes.
